Council Meeting Agenda - AMP | Achieving Maximum Potential

Council Meeting Agenda

Cedar Rapids Council Meeting Information

Hello everyone,

We will be starting back with IN PERSON meeting for AMP starting this Thursday.  Things will look a little different moving forward.  Please read this email fully so you know what to except.

We will be OUTSIDE for the entire meeting.  There will be portapotties if anyone needs a restroom.  There will be no access to the inside of our normal meeting location.  Please bring chairs or blankets to sit on, otherwise you will be sitting on the grass or standing.  Everyone will be asked to social distance and masks are preferred but not required.  I will have some masks if you need one.  EVERYONE will have their temperatures taken – staff and youth both.  If you have a temperature you will be asked too leave.  If you are transporting a youth, but just dropping off, please wait for the all clear before you leave your youth at the meeting.

As of right now we will be having a welcome back party for this meeting.  We will be playing games so please me mindful of that.  We might be playing water games if I can get my hands on some water balloons but that is to be determined.  (Bring a towel just in case! )

Please let me know if you have ANY questions.  I know this is a lot of information, but I do not want that to deter you from bringing youth/attending the meeting.  As of right now I am unable to provide transportation for youth. Junior League will still be providing dinner, but they will be box meals so it wont look like our normal meals.

Thank you and I hope to see everyone on Thursday!

AMP is a state-wide network of youth councils made up of youth aged 13-21 who support and advocate for themselves and other youth who have ever been in an out-of-home placement (foster, kinship, adoptive, shelter, residential, detention).

AMP meetings are a time for youth to gain valuable life skills for healthy transitions into adulthood, learn about local resources, and socialize while in a supportive environment of youth with similar experiences
