August 4, 2020

6:00 PM - IN PERSON meeting with youth in shelter
7:00 PM - IN PERSON meeting with youth in cottages

We will continue putting together our care packages that will later be safely distributed to those in need in our community. This week we will focus on writing positive and encouraging notes to include in our care packages. Our care packages will include masks, sanitizer, reusable water bottle, socks, and more! We will be taking extra precautions (masks, social distancing, and cleaning) to ensure the safety of our youth.

What is AMP?

AMP is a youth-driven, statewide group of youth aged 13-21 that seeks to unleash the full potential for personal growth among foster and adoptive children in Iowa. AMP offers leadership opportunities, service learning projects, speaking opportunities, support and educational/vocational assistance. AMP meetings are a time to gain valuable life skills youth need to become self–sufficient, independent adults and to learn about local resources and socialize while in a supportive environment of youth with similar experiences.

AMP is available for youth who have ever been in an out-of-home placement (foster, kinship, adoptive, shelter, residential, detention). Check us out on the website
