Dubuque AMP Agenda - AMP | Achieving Maximum Potential

Dubuque AMP Agenda

Announcements As the situation with Covid continues to change daily, we’ve been adapting our meetings around the state to make things as safe for youth and staff as possible—please note that while I continue to send the agenda out on my Hillcrest email, the best email to contact me is DubuqueAMP@gmail.com as I’m limiting time at the campus. The campus remains closed, so as of now, we do not have meetings at Molitoire. We do still have opportunities available for AMP, however!

Announcements Upcoming meetings:

2020 has been a rough year for a lot of us, and while the pandemic won’t be suddenly ending on January 1st, we can still use the energy of the new year to motivate us to make 2021 our best year ever.

We’re going to be taking the next several months to explore, to ask ourselves the following questions:

 What is my dream?

 How can I stay focused?

 What will it take?

 What lessons can I learn?

 What are the barriers?

 Who is in my corner?

 What progress have I made, so far?

UPCOMING MEETINGS Pursuing Your Dream Thursday 12.10.20 5:30 PM First talk in a series on creating our best lives: we’ll be taking the evening to tap into what this looks like and taking time to craft a clear vision of the future.

What is AMP?

AMP is a youth-driven, statewide group that seeks to unleash the full potential for personal growth among foster and adoptive children in Iowa. AMP offers leadership opportunities, service learning projects, speaking opportunities, and educational/vocational assistance. Amp also provides the life skills youth need to become self-sufficient, independent adults.

WHO CAN COME?

Any youth between 13 and 23 can attend an AMP meeting if they have been placed out of the home at some point in their life. They could have been in foster care, relative care, residential, group home, or a shelter. If you have any questions, please contact Indy.

The Dubuque AMP Council is done in partnership with: Hillcrest Family Services

Note from the facilitator:

Goodbye

Goodbye I’ll miss you guy I won’t lie

I planted a seed

And now I begin to succeed

Now I’m a rose cant be destroyed

All I feel is joy

Wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you

I appreciate everything you’ve done for me too

Goodbye is a little different than goodnight

But in the Molitore House I will no longer turn out the light

I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity to change

Even though I got pushed out of my comfort range

Thank you for everything

Even though leaving you may sting

Goodbye
