You tell me things that’ll hold me back
You say that I need to be covered up
That I need to hide who I am
But I can’t
I won’t
I am made by the scars
I am who I am not because I hid
But because I accepted the mistakes
I made the most and use them
To better the lives of those around
To help those who haven’t gotten to this point
Understand that it’s not for attention
I’m unashamed of them
I’m sorry for the pain
I’m sorry that you’re immature
That you can’t handle that some go through
Life and find it hard to cope
Sorry that you can’t respect that I am comfortable
In my own skin.
But can you try to at least try
