When I look in the mirror, all I can see is a little girl I will never be.
I see the worn tired face of a girl who had to grow up to soon.
I see a sister who always cared.
I see a girl who wants to change, but doesn’t know how.
I see a girl who wants to trust people, but can’t, because people always broke that trust.
I see a girl who wants to love, but won’t, because she’s afraid of being hurt.
I see a girl who just wants to be loved, but is afraid of hurting someone else.
I see a girl who wants to branch out, but is afraid of being left alone.
I see a girl who wants to succeed, but is afraid to fail.
I see a girl who wants to make people proud, but always tries too hard.
In that mirror I see myself.
A girl who will branch out,
Who will make people proud,
Who will change,
Who will trust,
Who will care again,
Who will love,
And who will be loved by many and all.
I see a girl who will succeed.
In that mirror I see ME!
