CAPS project kickoff conference was in Council Bluffs, IA, on 1/12/12. Participants discussed ways of keeping foster youth in school and continuing their education. AMP youth were in attendence at the conference and played an important part in discussing their needs with other participants. In this video Taylor Pett, an AMP youth, discusses her experience with AMP and the importance of education.
AMP is a youth-driven, statewide group that seeks to unleash the full potential for personal growth among foster and adoptive children in Iowa. AMP offers leadership opportunities, service learning projects, speaking opportunities, and educational/vocational assistance. Amp also provides the life skills youth need to become self-sufficient, independent adults.
